Although Cameroon seems to be on track to achieve the goal of universal primary education, the country still has a long way to go regarding the primary school completion rate, the enrollment rate of girls compared to boys, student retention rates, and regional disparities in access to education.

The Nanou Association is very familiar with the territorial reality of the country: Northern Cameroon is one of the regions where the children's school enrollment rate is the lowest in Cameroon. This dropout is due to the lack of schools to accommodate students and also the absence of school supplies (desks, notebooks, books, blackboards)

The school situation near Garoua - North Region (Cameroon)

After a field survey with the participation of several teachers, it appears that the children of the Djoumassi school, near Garoua, in the North region of Cameroon, need school supplies to enable them to continue their education.
The cost of these supplies amounts to €75 per child, or €7,500 for 100 students, and €60 for the bench tables, or €6,000.
We therefore need €13,500 to carry out this small project which will provide 100 students with supplies for one year and bench tables for several years.
And later, if resources allow, our goal is to build a small school in this locality of Djoumassi, to replace these sheds that serve as classrooms as you can see in these images...
